Tollesbury's recreation ground at Elysian Gardens is a large open site with two football pitches, a tennis court, children's play equipment and an adjacent wooded area. The playground features a step-free sandpit, a playhouse, activity boards, a large nest seat swing and a high-backed seat – accessible to all.
Junior football is the main organised sport, with the ground serving as the home pitch for village youth teams. The Tollesbury Climate Partnership runs regular tree-planting and maintenance working parties here – usually the first Saturday of certain months at 2pm, open to anyone.
The Pavilion on the recreation ground is available to hire for meetings, clubs, groups and children's parties up to age 11.
