Brickworks
The route now turns up towards Thurstable Way and the site of the old brick works. A village railway was as much about goods as about people – coal in, farm produce and local goods out – and in its early years the line was busy, carrying as many as a thousand journeys a day.
Industry like a brick works was exactly the sort of trade a light railway was built to serve, before lorries and a rival bus service slowly took the traffic away.
