Tollesbury Community Orchard and Cemetery
A community orchard beside the cemetery
The cemetery at the north end of the village is also home to Tollesbury's community orchard – one of the most visible projects of the Tollesbury Climate Partnership, a community organisation set up in 2021 by local residents to tackle climate change and live more sustainably.
The orchard is tended by volunteers at regular working parties – usually the first Saturday of alternating months at 2pm. The fruit is free to pick in season, and everyone is welcome to come along and help with maintenance.
The Tollesbury Climate Partnership runs projects across the village covering food, energy, transport, waste and nature. Their annual Apple Day in autumn has become one of the village's most popular community events.
