Brent geese and grazing marsh
~4,000 overwintering Brent geese
In winter the Old Hall pastures fill with around 4,000 Brent geese, down from the Arctic to feed on the grass. The sight – and sound – of the flock lifting off the marsh is one of the great spectacles of the Essex coast.
